The New York Mets positioned rookie right-handed pitcher Dedniel Nunez on the 15-day injured checklist Thursday (retroactive to Monday) with proper forearm tightness.
Nunez missed a couple of month whereas on the IL recovering from a pronator pressure in his pitching arm. He made one look for the Mets after coming off the IL, placing out three and permitting one hit in 1⅔ scoreless innings Saturday throughout a win over the San Diego Padres.
Mets supervisor Carlos Mendoza later revealed that Nunez was “not recovering effectively” after that look, and the workforce had but to determine if one other IL stint can be wanted.
Nunez, 28, is faring effectively in his first season within the majors. He has pitched to a 2.31 ERA by way of 25 reduction appearances, with a 2-0 report and one save in two alternatives. He gave up only one run in his previous seven outings for the Mets, spanning 7⅓ innings.
