This sign can be relevant across age groups, but interpretation can be trickier in certain populations. In children, clinicians often use a combination of history, growth patterns, diet, and examination findings rather than relying on one visual sign alone. In older adults, anemia may be caused by nutritional issues, chronic illness, hidden bleeding, or medication-related problems.
