Freshwater Surf Life Saving Membership’s director of lifesaving David Worth says there’s a “position for everybody” in Surf Life Saving.
Mr Worth is an award-winning member of the Northern Seashores Council who was awarded the Excellent Group Service Award for his contribution to lifesaving within the space, had been he has been energetic since 2008.
“It’s what we do and it’s iconically Australian,” Mr Worth instructed Sky Information Australia host Paul Murray of his love for his position.
“So many individuals suppose it’s worthwhile to be an Olympic swimmer to be a surf lifesaver, and also you don’t.
“Sure, you want to have the ability to swim, but it surely’s not the defining attribute that you’re a nice swimmer.”
“There’s a job for everybody.”
