Jordan Spieth purposefully performs shot onto TPC San Antonio clubhouse throughout loopy 18th gap


Jordan Spieth entered his ultimate gap Saturday, coming off a birdie at No. 17 and tied for seventh place on the Valero Texas Open.

Spieth pulled his tee shot on the par-5 18th left, beneath a tree. His second shot went farther left into, because the PGA Tour leaderboard described it, an “unknown” space. His ball completed close to a big drainage ditch and after taking time to survey the scenario, Spieth determined to go even farther left.

Spieth hit his third shot onto the TPC San Antonio clubhouse, his ball coming to relaxation within the rooftop gutter. He obtained a free drop — as he knew he would — and hit the inexperienced together with his fourth. Confronted with 54 toes for par, Spieth three-putted and made double bogey.

He completed the day with an even-par 72, and at 3 beneath was 12 pictures off the lead.
