Mill Stream claimed a good victory within the 144th version of the July Cup at Newmarket.
The four-year-old emerged from a large place late within the six-furlong race to win from Swingalong by a neck, with Vandeek third.
Favorite Inisherin was two and three-quarter lengths again in fifth.
“He is been such a very good horse for me this 12 months,” stated Mill Stream’s jockey William Buick.
“He ran effectively at Ascot however we felt he had a bit extra to offer. That little bit of rain we had actually suited him. I used to be all the time comfy and he is so real. It is so effectively deserved. It is my first July Cup, so I am so completely thrilled.”
Mill Stream completed over a size behind Swingalong when third within the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot on his final outing on 22 June.
