Huge Evs edged a dash end with Asfoora to win the King George Stakes at Goodwood.
The Mick Appleby-trained horse, ridden by Tom Marquand, led from the beginning with Asfoora method behind.
Asfoora – winner of the King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot in June – was then shaken up by jockey Oisin Murphy and powered to the road on the skin, closing the hole.
Huge Evs, nevertheless, held on to avenge his defeat at Ascot, when he completed third.
“He’s implausible racehorse,” Marquand informed ITV of the 13-8 favorite.
